Fidelity plans to open a new research and development facility in Ireland, The Associated Press reported. The R&D center will be located in Galway, a city on the west coast of Ireland, and will employ 49 people. The staffers will work with a dozen academics at local universities to come up with better ways for clients to access and manage Fidelity products via the Web. Fidelity already employs 300 people in Ireland.
