With numerous publications piling on Putnam in light of the continued underperformace of its funds, CEO
Ed Haldeman, decided to talk to the
Boston Globe about what funds he is proud of and what funds can do better. Halderman told Globe columnist Steven Syre, "There are many areas I'm proud of and many areas where I hope we can do better." Also giving an interview to Syre is the head of investments at Putnam,
Kevin Cronin, who expressed optimism toward Putnam's future. Cronin expects that Putnam's funds will start to turn the corner in the second half of 2008.
