ICI's lobbying spending is getting a closer watch by the media than in the past. The
Associated Press reported Friday that the mutual fund lobbying group paid
Covington & Burling $240,000 in 2007 to lobby on tax issues. The report adds that the ICI's members include
T. Rowe Price Group Inc.,
Legg Mason Inc. and
Goldman Sachs Group (why those three were singled out is not clear). The report is based on a Feb. 13 disclosure filed with the Senate's public records office.
