Renee Schultes recounts mutual funds' rough January. According to
AMG Data Research, market volatility caused investors to yank a net $32.9 billion from stock funds in the first month of the year. That, according to the report, was the worst month of outflows since July 2002. Not all is lost though, said AMG president
Robert Adler. Inflows have resumed in February.
