U.K Broker Dealer Gets in the U.S. Fund Business

News summary by MFWire's editors

ThinkCapital Management has launched its first batch of mutual funds. The U.S. subsidiary of the U.K.-based broker dealer, Panmure Gordon & Co, rolled out three funds under the ThinkFunds brand. The three funds will go by the cutesy monikers ThinkGrowth, ThinkGlobal, and ThinkGreen.

Company Press Release

ThinkCapital Management, LLC, today announced the launch of their first three funds: ThinkGrowth, ThinkGlobal, and ThinkGreen. The ThinkFunds are suitable for individuals and advisors seeking access to high growth opportunities. Each one has a particular focus: growth, global, and green investing.

Michael Moe, CFA, is the Chief Investment Officer of the Advisor, ThinkCapital Management, LLC, and a co-portfolio manager of each of the ThinkFunds. He is also the Chairman of the Board of ThinkPanmure Holdings, LLC, the U.S. holding company owned by U.K. brokerage company, Panmure Gordon & Co., plc. Mr. Moe is a founder and former CEO of ThinkPanmure LLC, formerly known as ThinkEquity Partners LLC, a U.S. investment bank/broker dealer regulated by FINRA and an affiliate of the Advisor. He was formerly Director of Global Growth Stock Research at Merrill Lynch and a Senior Managing Director and Director of Growth Stock Research and Strategy at Montgomery Securities. In 2007 he published his first book, Finding The Next Starbucks: How to Identify and Invest in the Hot Stocks of Tomorrow.

Stuart Pulvirent will be a co-portfolio manager of each of the ThinkFunds. He joined ThinkPanmure, LLC in July 2004 as a Partner and analyst focused on materials science and nanotechnology. Since August 2006, he has served as the portfolio manager of a hedge fund advised by ThinkEquity Capital Advisors, LLC. Mr. Pulvirent was a Managing Director of Axia Capital Management, LLC, a hedge fund, from February 2002 to July 2004. During his 23 year investment career, he held senior analytical and research management roles at Lehman Brothers, Furman Selz LLC and Zweig-DiMenna Associates LLC.

ThinkGrowth

The ThinkGrowth Fund will invest in equity securities of U.S. companies of all market capitalizations with a focus on small to mid-cap growth companies that the Advisor believes to have the potential for the highest, most sustainable earnings growth.

According to Michael Moe, "Growth is at the core of the ThinkFunds' philosophy and we're passionate about it. You might say we're obsessed with growth. Once found, we want to nurture it, invest in it, and perpetuate it. Simply put, growth is how we live."

ThinkGlobal

The ThinkGlobal Fund will invest primarily in common stocks of any size company located throughout the world with the potential for long-term growth of capital. The Advisor will emphasize investments in companies with the strongest business fundamentals for growth selling at a discount to the projected long-term intrinsic value.

Michael says, "When it comes right down to it the advancement of the human condition depends on economic growth. Economic growth comes from the myriad of global firms competing in the marketplace seeking to better serve customers while seeking growth for their individual company. In doing so each individual company is enriching its customers, its employees and ideally its shareholders. Multiply this single firm by the hundreds of thousands globally and you see the profound impact on the global economy."

ThinkGreen

The ThinkGreen Fund will invest in equity securities of any company worldwide that helps the sustainability of our planet and help to improve people's health and well-being. The Fund will invest in companies across various sectors with a focus on "Green Technology" and "Green Living" and which the Advisor believes are growing rapidly and hold significant investment potential.

According to Stuart Pulvirent, "The major focus of the ThinkGreen Fund will be to invest in companies developing and applying new technologies to address greener energy generation or deployment such as: solar energy, wind power, bio-fuels, water purification, recycling and technology enhancements that reduce the environmental impact of existing processes. Embracing new technologies is a key to achieving sustainable global economic growth." He adds, "Improving the environment and living conditions of all the planet's inhabitants is not only a social compact - it's good business and a significant opportunity."

Based in San Francisco, California, ThinkCapital Management, LLC is an affiliate of the investment bank ThinkEquity Partners, LLC. For more information on ThinkEquity Panmure, LLC and Panmure Gordon, please visit www.thinkpanmure.com and www.panmure.com.

The ThinkFunds invest in foreign securities which will involve political, economic and currency risks, greater volatility, and differences in accounting methods. These risks are heightened by investments in emerging markets. The ThinkFunds are non-diversified meaning their assets may be concentrated in fewer individual holdings than diversified funds. Therefore, the ThinkFunds are more exposed to individual stock volatility than diversified funds. The ThinkFunds invest in smaller companies, which will involve additional risks such as limited liquidity and greater volatility. Mutual fund investing involves risk. Principal loss is possible.

The ThinkFunds are distributed by Grand Distribution Services, LLC.
