Envision Sales Director jumps to UMB

News summary by MFWire's editors

UMB Fund Services has hired Dave Weber as vice president and quality control process manager within the transfer agency. He reports to Maureen Quill, executive vice president of investor services. Before jumping to UMB, Weber was the national sales director for Envision Financial Services.

Company Press Release

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - (Business Wire) UMB Fund Services, Inc. (UMBFS), a subsidiary of UMB Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: UMBF), is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Dave E. Weber as vice president and quality control process manager within the transfer agency. Weber reports to Maureen Quill, UMBFS executive vice president of investor services.

In this newly created role, Weber will work closely with the transfer agency management team to evaluate systems and processes, recommending enhancements to position the transfer agency for further growth while maintaining the superior levels of service and quality for which the UMBFS transfer agency is known in the industry.

The announcement reflects UMBFS’ strategy of expanding the company’s transfer agency infrastructure to meet growing demand. This contrasts with the recent industry trend by financial companies toward divesting or minimizing transfer agency business units to control costs in the current economic environment.

“The transfer agency has been, and will continue to be, one of our core competencies,” said Quill. “Our strategy is to capitalize on this position of strength. Dave’s leadership and experience in project management, product development, and vendor and client relationship management will help drive our growth and maintain the reputation for high standards of service our clients expect and demand.”

Weber joins UMBFS after serving as national sales director for Envision Financial Services. While at Envision, he was responsible for developing all mutual fund services new business, consisting of transfer agency, 529 plan servicing, hedge fund and offshore system needs. Prior to his role with Envision, Weber headed the transfer agency for U.S. Bancorp Fund Services.
