The addition of Albahary, 40, is a "recognition of the demand we've seen and predict will continue in the U.S. market for investment solutions that enable investors to benefit from a diversification philosophy that addresses 'real-world' risks," Smith said.

Prior to joining Schroders, Albahary was managing director of global private client portfolio management at SEI.

Company Press Release

NEW YORK, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Schroders, the $259 billion* global asset manager, today announced the hire of Ronald Albahary, CFA, 40, to lead the growth of Schroders' Strategic Investment Solutions initiatives in North America. Mr. Albahary will report directly to Jamie Dorrien-Smith, CEO of Schroders Americas and will be based in New York. This key new hire is part of the firm's continuing North American expansion plans.

Mr. Albahary will be responsible for developing and executing Schroders' strategy to leverage its global multi-asset and quantitative investment capabilities into North America in order to build and deliver objectives-based solutions through intermediaries and to institutional clients.

Schroders has over $42 billion* of multi-asset solutions under management. Its London-based Multi-Asset and Structured Solutions team comprises over 44 research analysts and fund managers. In the U.S., Schroders' Multi-Asset Growth Portfolio includes traditional and alternative investments and is available through financial intermediaries such as wirehouses, independent broker/dealers and registered investment advisors for retail accounts, as well as through fee-based wrap, retirement and institutional accounts.

Schroders' quantitative equity team was started in 1996 and manages a range of factor-driven strategies. These include global, global ex-U.S. and certain regional strategies offered to institutional clients and, as mutual funds in the U.S., the Schroder International Value Fund and North American Equity Fund.

"Ron's addition is recognition of the demand we've seen and predict will continue in the U.S. market for investment solutions that enable investors to benefit from a diversification philosophy that addresses 'real-world' risks," said Jamie Dorrien-Smith. "Since launching the Multi-Asset Growth Portfolio here in the U.S. in December, we've seen a real appetite for an investment strategy that offers a new approach to diversified growth -- one with a global tactical allocation approach that balances the firm's long-term outlook with short-term views of the economic cycle."

"Ron brings an impressive depth of experience in multi-asset and multi-manager strategies for individuals as well as institutions and is perfectly suited to helping Schroders develop and promote its innovative range of investment solutions," Mr. Dorrien-Smith added.

Mr. Albahary joins Schroder Investment Management from SEI where he was Managing Director, Global Private Client Portfolio Management since 2005. Previously he worked as the Chief Investment Officer with Merrill Lynch Retirement Group. Before that, Mr. Albahary worked as a Portfolio Manager for Northern Trust Global Investments. He started his career in 1990 at Merrill Lynch where he helped create many wealth management and investment solutions used by the firm's financial advisors.
