Federated Investors has launched a new fund that will take advantage of value opportunities in the global marketplace. The Federated International Strategic Value Fund will have three share classes, A, C and IS. The fund will be marketed through broker/dealers, bank broker/dealers and other financial intermediaries.

(PITTSBURGH, Pa., June 3, 2008) – Federated Investors, Inc. (NYSE: FII), one of the nation’s
largest investment managers, today announced the launch of the Federated International
Strategic Value Fund, which seeks to invest in the securities of undervalued companies that pay
above-average dividends to meet investor needs for income and long-term capital appreciation.
The fund will invest a majority of its assets in foreign securities, primarily those of developed
markets including the European Union, the United Kingdom and Australia.
Federated International Strategic Value Fund is managed by Walter C. Bean and Daniel Peris,
who also manage Federated Strategic Value Fund, a largely domestic fund that also focuses on
income and long-term capital appreciation. The fund’s managers employ a bottom-up, fundamental investment approach.

Federated will market Federated International Strategic Value Fund in A, C and IS share classes
through broker/dealers, bank broker/dealers and other financial intermediaries. A minimum
investment of $1,500 is required for A and C share classes with subsequent investments of $100.
A minimum investment of $25,000 is required for IS shares. For A, C and IS shares there is no
minimum investment for retirement plans; for IRA plans there is a $250 minimum initial
investment and a $100 subsequent investment.
