The WSJ Fund Track column reports that Putnam has landed Gerald Sullivan and Rob Brookby from American Century. Sullivan and Brookby become the heads of Putnam's U.S. Large Cap Equity group and they will take the reins of the $2.8 billion Putnam Investors Fund, the $178 million Putnam Tax Smart Equity Fund and the $420 million Putnam Capital Appreciation Fund. The column also covers a Citigroup study of 50 large mutual funds which uncovers the funds' most popular picks among beaten-down technology and financial stocks.
