Both the
Wall Street Journaland
CNBC on Monday published updates on what
John Thain intends to do with
Merrill Lynch's stake in
BlackRock.
CNBC's
Charlie Gasparino reported that Thain will make a decision on the early this week. He also reported that if Thain decides to sell it will likely be no more than a 25 percent stake (Merrill owns a 49 percent stake).
The WSJ reports that Merrill officials are expected to sit down with BlackRock officials sometime this week to discuss possible options. The pub agrees that if Merrill does decide to sell, it will most likely be only a part of the stake.
