The hypothetical sale of
Lehman Brothers' asset management unit, which includes
Neuberger Berman, continues.
The New York Post reports that the company has asked the private equity firms still in the running to to have their next, and possibly final, round of bids for the firm's asset management unit in by September 12. The sale of the asset management unit is still not a foregone conclusion, as Lehman also may receive a capital infusion from one or more foreign investors or be acquired outright by a consortium of foreign investors. The three private equity firms said to still be in the running are:
Kohlberg Kravis Roberts,
Hellman & Friedman and
Bain Capital.
