Ralph Schlosstein just made a new on the deal-making side of the business. On Friday Evercore Partners revealed that the former BlackRock president and co-founder just took over as president, CEO and partner, while also investing $15 million in Evercore.
Schlosstein, who takes the CEO reins from chairman Roger Altman, described the New York-based investment bank and asset manager as "an incredible franchise with the best and brightest senior advisors in the business."
"I am extremely enthusiastic about partnering with them to diversify both of the business lines and to expand the geographic reach of Evercore," Schlosstein stated. "This is a unique time in the financial services industry to attract world class talent to boutique investment banking firms."
Evercore, which Altman founded in 1996, sub-advises at least one open-end mutual fund, the Harbor SMID Value Fund (see MFWire, 5/1/2007).
