ING Investment Management just expanded its investment team to bring in a veteran strategist. On Wednesday the asset manager revealed the addition of Jonathan Golub in the newly created role of chief market strategist. He will function as part of the investment solutions group and will report to Paul Zemsky, head of asset allocation and multi-manager investments. Golub’s responsibilities include formulating asset allocation views and strategy.
Golub previously served as chief investment strategist at Bear Stearns, and he also worked as U.S. equity strategist and co-head of U.S. equity client portfolio management for JPMorgan Asset Management.
ING currently manages a family of five asset allocation funds.
Rob Leary, chairman and CEO of ING Investment Management, noted that the addition is timely given market conditions and client demands.
“[Golub’s] insights have benefited those looking to create and manage short- and long-term investment portfolios for their clients," Leary stated. "Given the undulating and unpredictable market environment we’re operating in, Jonathan [Golub] will make it easier for our institutional clients and financial advisors to understand the complexities of the global marketplace.”
