Fleet's Columbia Management (until recently known as Liberty Asset Management) has landed Robert McConnaughey to head its 20 member equity research team. MCconnaughey joins the asset manager from Citigroup. He is based in Boston and reports to Keith T. Banks, chief executive officer of Columbia Management Group. McConnaughey said that he intends to add to the analyst team.

"Because research is the cornerstone of a disciplined investment process at Columbia Management Group, we will continue to invest in talented individuals who help us add value on behalf of our clients. We are determined to build on our $170 billion in assets under management, including institutional assets, mutual fund assets, and investment management assets for the high net worth clients of Fleet Private Client Group."
McConnaughey was managing director and associate director of research at Citigroup Asset Management.
