Christopher Smart, manager of the
Pioneer Emerging Markets Fund, is leaving Boston-based
Pioneer Investments to join the Obama administration. Smart, whose resignation from Pioneer will take effect July 24, will become deputy assistant secretary of the Treasury.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity I just could not pass up," Smart said in a news release. “I have always hoped to spend some part of my career in public service, and this is a great opportunity to serve at a very important time in the development of the global economy."
London-based
