Pioneer Investments hired former
DWS Investments
executive
Thomas Jones as part of changes it is
making in its sales team.
The Boston fund firm has split its relationship management team
into two sales channels: wealth management and advisory. Thomas, whose post is newly created,
serves as senior vice president and director of the wealth management
channel. That channel supports national and regional broker-dealers, private
bank and trust groups.
Thomas was previously head of national accounts management at DWS Investments,
which he joined in November of last year. A DWS spokesperson told
The MFWire
that
Mary Pat McDonald now has that role.
Pioneer promoted
Thomas Coffey to oversee the advisory channel,
which supports independent financial advisor firms. Coffey was previously vice president, senior relationship manager.
Meanwhile, the firm also elevated
Paul Mahan to lead the strategic alliances group, which focuses on large defined contribution providers and insurance firms. Mahan was previously vice president, senior relationship manager in that group.
The moves "reflect a strategic decision to increase our efforts to provide investment solutions to larger clients, including broker-dealer wealth management platforms, independent financial advisory firms, defined-contribution providers, banks, and insurance firms,” said
Joseph Kringdon, executive vice president and head of U.S. retail distribution, in a news release Thursday.
Bill Taylor, who joined Pioneer in December from Evergreen Investments, oversees the relationship management and strategic alliances groups.
