Former
Columbia Management managing director
Stephen C. Peacher has been appointed chief investment officer at Toronto-based Sun Life Financial, the Canadian insurer
revealed Thursday.
At Columbia, Peacher was in charge of fixed income and liquidity strategies. He previously spent time at
Putnam Investments as managing director and CIO of credit.
At Sun Life, Peacher will be in charge of Sun Life's invested asset portfolio of $108 billion.
The release said that Peacher will split time between Toronto and Sun Life's U.S. Headquarters in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts.
Peacher succeeds
James M.A. Anderson, who retired from Sun Life earlier this year.
