Apparently some Wall Street firms are not complying with federal regulations and saving e-mails sent by stock brokers. Firms are required to save those correspondence for three years. The
National Association of Securities Dealers Regulation is seeking those e-mails in cases involving possible conflicts of interest, according to
The New York Times. The paper reports that
Salomon Smith Barney is one firm that failed to produce the e-mails.
