Last month, Peter Mastrantuono, co-head of U.S. retail marketing for
CitiGroup Asset Management, stepped down from his post, the professional told the MutualFundWire.com. He is currently exploring his options.
"I am looking at a number of possibilities," Mastrantuono reported. "One option I am investigating is starting my own consulting firm. But that is one of a number of areas I am exploring."
Before September 11, 2001, the executive's office was located in 7 World Trade Center. "It was quite an experience," he stated. After that day, his office was moved to Connecticut, meaning a three-to-four hour commute for the New Jersey resident.
"I want to be in the retail business. I enjoy working with the individual investors. I am a CFP, and that is where my psychic reward is," he concluded.
Before joining CitiGroup in February 2001, Mastrantuono was senior vice president of retirement marketing for
TD Waterhouse.
