Alexandria, Virginia-based SunStar, a public relations firm that services firms in the mutual fund space, has hired two new executives to its team, Dan Sondhelm, vice president and partner at the company, told the MutualFundWire.com. The two new professionals are Jeff Battles and Kelly Messman.

Battles has served a tour with Citicorp while Messman has had a tenure with Morningstar institutional sales and business development. Both executives will report to Kathryn Morrison, president and founder of SunStar. They will hold the titles of senior account executives.

"Our business is growing, and we need these additional staff members to support that growth," Sondhelm reported. Part of their mission is to generate business and develop strategies for the firm.
