Fidelity Investments is launching a new fixed-income mutual fund entitled the Fidelity Inflation-Protected Bond Fund. "Inflation-protected securities are relatively new to the marketplace, and we believe they can offer significant advantages over traditional debt securities for some investors," stated Sarah Libbey, senior vice president of Fidelity Personal Investments. "Fidelity Inflation-Protected Bond Fund is designed to provide greater protection against inflation than other types of bonds, which could be important to investors who are looking for regular income, such as those in or nearing retirement."
