Credit Suisse Asset Management has appointed Greg Sawers to the newly created position of managing director and global head of research. He will report to Laurence Smith, global cheif investment officer. The company is looking to strengthen its in-house proprietary research with the appointment of Sawers.

Sawers was previously a senior portfolio manager responsible. Prior to that, he worked for Sanford C. Bernstein/Alliance Capital where he was director of US Equity Research.
