A.G. Edwards has named Peter Miller head of the firm's sales and marketing division. He was formerly senior vice president and Eastern regional officer.
Miller will now oversee the firm's product and service areas such as fee-based programs, investment strategy and research, and financial planning services. The executive succeeds Benjamin Edwards IV.
Edwards will now head the firm's office in Town and Country, Missouri. And he will continue on the board of directors for the firm's brokerage subsidiary.
In other A.G. Edwards news, Earl Laing has retired, effective August 1. He was senior vice president and regional officer for the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. Laing's old responsibilities will be assumed by two executives. William Hatcher (manager of the Beaufort and Charlestown, South Carolina offices) will assume responsibility for the Mid-Atlantic region, while Cecil Wright III (manager of the Rome, Georgia office) will oversee the Southeast region.
