Merrill Lynch is continuing to remake its roster after an extensive shakeup. The most recent arrival is
Daniel J. Dart, who takes the chief operating officer slot in Merrill Lynch Investment Managers Americas unit for third-party retail distribution.
Dart starts in the new job on August 1 and will report to
Mary Taylor, head of MLIM Americas. At Merrill Lynch, Dart will oversee the implementation of the brokerage's third-party retail business strategy and the build out of a third-party retail sales organization for MLIM. Those efforts include the expansion of MLIM's retail distribution opportunities with broker-dealers, registered investment advisers, insurance companies and banks.
Dart left Pioneer Investments in February. There he was executive vice president and head of U.S. sales (he was the national sales manager for Alliance Capital prior to joining Pioneer).
Bill O'Grady joined Pioneer on March 11 to take over Dart's position as executive vice president of Distribution, a spokesperson at Pioneer told the MutualFundWire.com. He had been managing a multi-channel distribution organization at Fidelity Investments.
