John Hancock has hired five new professionals to its sales team, a spokesperson with the firm told the MutualFundWire.com. Three of the new hires are outside business development consultants, and two are inside wholesalers.
On the outside business development consulting side, there are two new regional vice presidents for the New York/New Jersey region. They are Christopher Finch and Gregory LaVersa. Finch previously served in a similar post at
Fidelity while LaVersa had a similar role at
Seligman Advisors.
James Bradley Baker has been named as managing director for the firm's private client group. Baker will oversee developing new business contacts for the separate account products in the Mid-Atlantic area. Prior to joining John Hancock, he was the marketing and client service manager at
Legg Mason Wood Walker.
On the insider wholesaling side, Douglas Lyons was appointed to cover the New York City and Long Island areas. He was most recently an investment associate at
Scudder Investments. Meanwhile, David White will be covering North Carolina. He also joins the firm from Fidelity.
