News of the coming departure of top
Nuveen executive
Mark
Anson beat the early rush out of Chicago Friday afternoon.
Anson, who joined Nuveen as president and executive director
of investment services in September 2007 during the firm's sale to Madison Dearborn Partners, is leaving Nuveen next month, according to a
published report.
The reason for his departure was not reported. It's not immediately clear if Nuveen is looking for a replacement or has already chosen one.
Prior to joining Nuveen, Anson was with London-based
Hermes Pensions Management and British Telecomm Pension Scheme, where he has served as chief executive and chief investment officer. Earlier, he was chief investment officer at the California Public Employees' Retirement System (Calpers).

Correction: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that Mark Anson was part of the Nuveen fund board.
