Legg Mason has put in place a new compensation program for wholesalers. The program took effect this month and places an emphasis on cross-selling opportunities, InvestmentNews reports.

April is the start of Legg Mason's fiscal year.

"We have lots of data on buyer preferences that we can use," Matt Schiffman, head of retail Americas at Legg Mason, told the pub. He did not provide further details on the comp program.
