Fundsters marketing or selling new mutual funds may want to check out John Waggoner's column this morning in
USA Today; some of your prospects may push back with this logic. Waggoner
urges investors to be cautious of new mutual funds, noting that they often chase (and thus lag) trends, like the technology bubble that ended in 2000, and the housing and commodities bubbles that ended in 2008.
Yet Waggoner isn't entirely against new funds. He gives positive ink to two fresh launches --
Amana Developing World and
GRT Value -- both run by veteran managers and both praised in David Snowball's new column on
fundalarm.com.
