Christine Thompson is taking over investments for
Fidelity's bond group. As chief investment officer for the unit, she reports to
Chistopher Sullivan and steps up from the Boston Behemoth's municipal bond team, which she has led since 2002, reports
Morningstar.
A spokeswoman for Fidelity confirmed that Thompson's position is a new one. Her appointment is effective June 30.
Thompson will relinquish her duties as PM for the Fidelity Municipal Income (FHIGX), Fidelity Massachusetts Municipal Income (FDMMX) and Fidelity Tax-Free Bond (FTABX) funds. Jamie Pagliocco will lead the team managing the funds along with Mark Sommer. Kevin Ramundo takes over the single-state muni funds that Thompson had run.
Last year Morningtar nominated Thompson for its Fixed-Income Manager of the Decade Award.
Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that Thompson is taking over for Sullivan. In fact, Sullivan continues to serve as president of the bond group, and Thompson now reports to Sullivan.
