Shareholders of Evergreen Funds gave a thumbs up to the merging of 17 Evergreen Funds and 4 Wells Fargo Advantage Funds this week. The fund mergers are expected to complete in July and are a part of Wells Fargo's plans to streamline its fund lineup that it announced at the start of the year.

Meanwhile, the votes on 14 Evergreen mutual funds were delayed until June 29 because the funds have yet to receive proxies for more than 50 percent of their shares (See SEC filing.

Wells Fargo officials plan to complete the changes in July. Earlier in June, shareholders had approved mergers for some 40 Evergreen and Wells Fargo mutual funds.

Wells Fargo acquired 60 Evergreen Funds through its acquisition of Wachovia during the 2008 financial crisis. At the start of the year Wells Fargo officials said that the Evergreen family would be melted into the Wells Fargo Advantage family with the majority of funds being merged and the remainder rebrabded.
