A
Fidelity executive is in the news this morning, but not for business reasons.
The Boston Herald picked up on the divorce battle between
National Financial
Services president
Sanjiv Mirchandani and his beauty queen wife.
Mirchandani accused his wife Sabina Paul, a winner of Miss India USA in 1981,
of beating him with a wine bottle. To cover up the bruises, Mirchandani said he
put on tinted sunblock at business meetings. He also accused her of
draining their joint checking account to under $500,000 from $1.2 million.
Not to be outdone, Paul "says he's a self-absorbed tantrum tosser who made her and their
children share a mattress on the floor as 'enforced frugality,'" according to the article.
The "recent layoffs" at Fidelity were also mentioned in court. "Hours before Mirchandani spoke on the stand about Fidelity's recent layoffs, Katherine Dunn, Fidelity Management and Research’s recordkeeper of shareholder assets, testified he received a $950,000 Christmas bonus in December," according to the article.
