Fundsters pondering the potential impact of the
SEC's proposed 12b-1 reforms may want to a look at
MarketWatch. In his weekend column,
Chuck Jaffe predicts that reform will lead to better disclosure and understanding of mutual fund fees, but not less fees.
"Mutual-fund fees are like zombies; they're mighty tough to kill," Jaffe quipped. "The SEC will someday soon be crowing about having killed off 12b-1 fees, but investors won't get a big payback because the fees are undead."
Gregg Brewer, executive director of research at Value Line, weighs in for the article.
