Bill Carey, who
left the top distribution job at
OppenheimerFunds [
see profile] in January, has joined
Financial Research Corporation's board of directors.

Carey is taking on a new board seat at the Boston-based asset management market research firm, FRC chairman
Bob Hedges told
The MFWire.com.
"Bill is going to become very active in working with our key clients in the DC I-O and retirement fields," said Hedges, who is also founder and managing partner of private equity investing and strategy consulting firm
Mercatus LLC. Mercatus acquired FRC from Citi in 2008.
Carey's addition raises the total number of board members to four. The other directors are FRC CEO
Bruce Fador and Mercatus partner
Teresa Epperson.
Prior to his four-month stint at OppenheimerFunds, worked at
Bank of America for two years. There, he served as managing director of distribution and relationship management in the institutional retirement, philanthropy and investments division.
Earlier, Carey spent 14 years with
Fidelity [
see profile], where his roles included running Fidelity Institutional Retirement Services Company (now known as Fidelity's workplace investing division) and Fidelity Registered Investment Advisor Group (now known as Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services).
