SunTrust Banks is continuing to build and enhance its affluent business market with the formation of a new group. The Atlanta-headquartered-bank said it has created the SunTrust Financial Planning Group.
The unit will provide financial planning tools and programs to high net worth clients and will work with relationship managers, brokers and other financial services providers within SunTrust. The bank now also requires its relationship managers, who serve the wealthy client base, be proficient in financial planning.
Bill Rogers, executive vice president of Private Client Services, explained that the financial planning tools are a natural extension of the bank's trust and estate planning services.
"Based on client feedback, it is being integrated as a central element in our overall wealth management strategy."
The SunTrust Financial Planning Group now is made up of five senior financial planners.
