The ranks of
Fidelity alums at One Post Office Square
will continue to grow.
Putnam Investments has hired
Shep Perkins and
Aaron Cooper for its investment team,
Pensions and Investments reports.
The two will start work at Putnam this summer.
Shep Perkins, a PM who had helmed the
Fidelity Mid-Cap Stock Fund, will take on the role of co-head of international equities at Putnam alongside Simon Davis. Perkins replaces
Joshua Byrne, who is leaving Putnam to pursue other opportunities.
Aaron Cooper, who had served as managing director at Fidelity, will become director of global equity research at Putnam. He will effectively take on the post that
Andrew Matteis previously held. Matteis left Putnam last year to join Fidelity's Pyramis Global Advisors
unit.
A Fidelity spokesperson told P&I that the company is weighing its options about Cooper's post. The firm has yet to say who is replacing Perkins, but it has already identified a strong candidate for the job.
The P&I article also mentions another departure from Putnam:
Shigeki Makino, who has led global equities and helmed the Putnam Global Equity Fund.
