Fundsters may not have to say Morgan Stanley Smith Barney for long. The Wall Street Journal's Brett Philbin reports that Morgan Stanley has asked its clients to choose from half a dozen names for the 18,000-advisor wirehouse, and Smith Barney isn't included in any of the choices.

Morgan Stanley merged its wirehouse with Citigroup's Smith Barney back in 2009, creating the new MSSB joint venture (with Morgan Stanley holding 51 percent).
