Federated Investors has named
Christopher F. Corapi senior vice president and head of equity research for both domestic and international stocks. He will join the firm on November 4 and report to
Stephen F. Auth, executive vice president and chief investment officer of the equity division.
Corapi (44), who brings twenty-two years of experience, is jumping over from
Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he was managing director of U.S. equity research and co-head of U.S. equities. He was responsible for integrating portfolio teams and a central research group into a single U.S. equity team.
"Federated has taken a number of steps in recent years to increase its investment management capabilities and Chris will play a crucial role in leading our effort to enhance our proprietary research," said
Keith M. "Kim" Schappert, president and chief executive officer for Federated's investment advisory companies, in a release.
Corapi will also assist in the development of strategies and policies for domestic and international equity portfolios, which include 80 mutual funds and separately managed accounts totaling approximately $20.9 billion in assets as of June 30, 2002.
Pittsburgh-based Federated Investors reports some $185 billion in mutual funds and separate accounts as of June 30, 2002.
