Waldron rang the opening bell at the NYSE Euronext today to mark the recent launch of 14 AlphaDEX ETFs, nine of which are international funds. The AlphaDEX funds track the performance of a group of custom "enhanced" indexes
that use the AlphaDEX fundamental stock selection methodology.
The
rollout this spring of the 14 products raised the total number of AlphaDEX ETFs to 30. Wheaton, Illinois-based First Trust
debuted the AlphaDEX line in May 2007.
"We hope to add around half a dozen international AlphaDEX ETFs by the end of the year," Waldron said.
Other First Trust executives that attended the bell ringing ceremony included senior vice president
Andy Subramanian, ETF strategist
Ryan Issakainen, SVP
Stan Ueland and vice president
Scott Friske.
Aside from the 30 AlphaDEX ETFs, First Trust offers 30 other ETFs and two mutual funds, among other products.
