Robert Stark is joining J.P. Morgan Asset Management [profile] to lead its strategy and business development team.

He's joining from Russell Investments, where he was the global head of strategy and M&A. He also spent over a decade at McKinsey.

At J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Stark will be in charge of developing strategies for the global expansion and report to chief financial officer David Brigstocke.

According to J.P. Morgan spokesperson Charlotte Powell, Stark's position is new.

New York, NY, June 7, 2012 – J.P. Morgan Asset Management today announced the appointment of Robert Stark to lead Strategy & Business Development. Mr. Stark will be based in New York, and responsible for developing growth and expansion strategies for the Asset Management franchise globally. Mr. Stark joins J.P. Morgan from Russell Investments, where he was Global Head of Strategy and M&A. Prior to that, he spent more than a decade at McKinsey & Company, working most recently as a Partner in the financial services sector focusing on insurance, asset management, investment banking and private equity.
