Girard Miller has a new gig -- chief investment officer at the Orange County Employees Retirement System.
In his
farewell column for the magazine, Miller said the people who are close to him would understand why he took the new job.
"I'll be working hands-on to improve a retirement system, while performing the labor I love the most -- investing public funds."
News of the fundster's new job was picked up by
Plan Sponsor and
Money Management Intelligence.
In addition to his work with Janus, Miller has also been a senior strategist with the
PFM group and the president of
ICMA Retirement Corporation. He has also worked at
Fidelity.
"We look forward to having Girard Miller lead our investment team,"
stated OCERS CEO Steve Delaney. "His investment experience and thorough understanding of public pension plans and retirement related issues will be of tremendous value."
