Halvard Kvaale, head of portfolio advisory services at
Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, has left the firm, a company spokeswoman confirmed to
MFWire. Kvaale will be moving on to
ING.
The spokeswoman said that Kvaale's replacement has not been announced, but would be in due course.
Kvaale told
MFWire that he will be joining ING sometime around the end of August. He had no comment on his departure from Morgan Stanley. He added that he was still technically employed by MSSB and he declined to comment on what role he will take at ING.
At MSSB, Kvaale was the head of discretionary advisory services, model management, CIO outsourcing, and portfolio management for the Consulting Group Capital Markets Funds, overseeing about $24 billion. He joined the firm from Deutsche Bank in 2006.
An ING spokeswoman told
MFWire that the firm has no comment, and declined to specify what role Kvaale will fill with ING.
