On Friday,
General Electric elected
John Brennan, ex-chairman of
Vanguard, to join their board as a director, the
Wall Street Journal reports.
GE seeks to bolster their support from the financial community with the addition of Brennan. GE stock has not recovered since the 2009 financial crisis. In the past four years, GE shares had fallen 31 percent.
"Jack Brennan knows what shareholders care about and what good governance looks like,"
Jeff Immelt, GE chief executive, said.
Brennan is still a Vanguard senior advisor, and also lead governor of the
Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
