Stadion Investment Management [Profile] is looking for an experienced wholesaler to court wirehouses in New England, Tim McCabe has told MutualFundWire.com.

McCabe said Stadion is looking for someone with preferably 15 or more years of experience who lives in the area. The firm is looking to fill the position for "the long term." "We want that person to call in that same market five-to-ten years from now," he says.

This search is the next step in Stadion's ongoing efforts to bolster its wholesaler force. It has already hired ten people over the past year and is looking to hire two more. The second opening will be announced in the coming months.

Wirehouses such as Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, UBS, Wells Fargo and LPL are key for Stadion's growth, McCabe says, because these firms cater to clients in Stadion's sweet-spot: rich clients looking to protect their wealth.

Stadion specializes in data-driven investment strategies that put a heavy premium on risk management, especially during market downturns.

"We don't swing for the fences. We aim to hit singles and doubles and not strike out," he says. "We've found that the wealthier the client, the more they like our strategies."
