Are bonds funds riskier than bonds?

Yes, writes a columnist on SeekingAlpha, and this same writer outlines some reasons why.

The article was written in response to a Robert Keyfitz article which argues that the mainstream financial media doesn't fully understand the issue. Suze Orman, Barron's, and Investopedia have all run articles stating that owning individual bonds is less risky than owning bond funds, while Keyfitz argues that owning a fund is no more risky than owning individual bonds.

In the response to Keyfitz, the writer says both parties are right.
