John Hancock Funds hired Robert C. Junkin as a vice president and portfolio manager of large-cap stocks. He will co-manage the John Hancock Large Cap Equity Fund with Paul Berlinguet, the head of John Hancock Funds' large-cap and mid-cap equity teams. Junkin will report to Berlinguet.

Junkin joins John Hancock Funds from Pioneer Investments where he was a vice president and co-portfolio manager of the company's Large and Mid Capitalization Growth funds. Previously, he co-managed Pioneer's Global Technology and Science and Technology funds. Before joining Pioneer, Junkin was a vice president and senior analyst at ABN AMRO Corporation, where his research focused on medical technology and health care services. Junkin also followed medical technology and health care companies at Mabon Securities, where he served as an analyst. His other positions include finance manager at Elan Pharma, Inc., and staff accountant/tax associate at Price Waterhouse.
