The mutual fund industry's fight against regulation with the
Commodities Future Trading Commission gained another combatant this week.
The
Mutual Fund Directors Forum joined the ICI and other groups to oppose the idea, reported Melanie Waddell for
AdvisorOne.
The MFDF filed a "friend of court" brief supporting the suit brought by the ICI and the
US Chamber of Commerce, Waddell reported.
"It is still very unclear what, if any, benefits there will be to shareholders from having funds register with the CFTC," stated
Susan Ferris Wyderko, the MFDF's president and CEO.
