Are you tired of talking about money-market fund reform? Well, Chuck Jaffe isn't.
The
MarketWatch columnist waded into the debate yesterday, pondering the simple question of whether or not reform could save the funds.
As is the general practice, he doesn't give a clear answer.
After describing a general history of money funds and describing both the 2010 reforms and the new ideas currently being fought over, Jaffe summarizes the potential outcome thusly:
In the end, resolution may not solve anything, as it’s hard to fight the next crisis before you know what it actually will look like.
For more details and to check out Jaffe's fairly short and sweet summary of the entire money fund industry, check out the
original article.
