According to job opening on the Fidelity website, the inside sales manager "plays a critical role in leading a team of Regional Investment Consultants — better known in the industry as Internal Wholesalers.  The Regional Investment Consultant's role, as part of FFAS' inside sales desk, is to drive sales and market share with top clients and prospects via the phone in our Broker/Dealer channel. The Inside Sales Manager’s role is to guide their development as sales professionals, through coaching, training, and conducting 1;1 meetings in order to increase sales and market share goals for FFAS."
