Transamerica Investment Management has promoted Heidi Y. Hu as senior vice president and head of fixed income investments. Both firms are based in Los Angeles. Hu will head a group managing $4.4 billion of fixed income assets at the insurer. She joined the insurer in 1998 from Arco Investment Management.

She remains as the portfolio manager of the Transamerica Income Shares closed end fund.  

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Hu was taken over as portfolio manager of the closed-end fund. She already held that position before her promotion.
