Cohen Brings on an AllianceBernstein PM

Cohen [profile] is embracing real assets.

The firm has just hired away Vince Childers from AllianceBernstein[profile] as PM and real asset strategist.

In this newly created role, Childers will lead the research and investment team responsible for Cohen & Steers' Real Assets Strategy group, which allocates among commodities, natural resource equities, infrastructure and global real estate investments. He will also be a portfolio manager for the Cohen & Steers Real Assets Fund (RAPIX), which was launched in 2012.

While at AllianceBernstein, he co-managed $2.3 billion in real assets investment strategies, including the AllianceBernstein Real Asset Strategy Fund.

Cohen & Steers Announces Addition of Real Assets Strategist and Portfolio Manager Vince Childers



NEW YORK, Aug. 13, 2013 -- Cohen & Steers, Inc. announces that Vince Childers, CFA, has joined Cohen & Steers, effective August 12, 2013, to lead the firm's real assets investment strategies.

Mr. Childers joins Cohen & Steers from AllianceBernstein where he co-managed $2.3 billion in real assets investment strategies, including the AllianceBernstein Real Asset Strategy Fund.

In this newly created role, Mr. Childers will lead the research and investment team responsible for Cohen & Steers' Real Assets Strategy, which allocates among commodities, natural resource equities, infrastructure and global real estate investments. Mr. Childers will be a portfolio manager for the Cohen & Steers Real Assets Fund (symbol:RAPIX), which launched in 2012 to provide a turnkey, multi-strategy solution for investors seeking an actively managed real assets portfolio.

The addition of Mr. Childers adds to the ongoing commitment of Cohen & Steers to deliver real assets solutions.
